Freeride Camps

Stay tuned for more camps in 2017-2018!

Crystal Mountain Resort is proud to offer a unique opportunity to hone your big-mountain skiing skills with one of the best freeriders in the world. Our Freeride Camps with Drew Tabke are an awesome chance to spend two days learning from a team of experienced coaches, lead by Tabke, as they teach you techniques and knowledge that will help you master the whole mountain like never before.

Three weekends are available, with opportunities for a wide range of ages and ability levels. While participants don’t need to have experience with competitive freeride skiing, they should be comfortable with skiing expert terrain as well as the occasional short hike. The camps will cover safety and equipment norms for freeride, how to visually inspect a run and choose an appropriate line, techniques for powder and variable snow in steep terrain, jumping (and landing) on natural terrain features, and the basics of putting together a winning competition run.

Freeride Competitions

The terrain at Crystal Mountain lends itself to many great Freeride event venues. From the steeps of 7,012′ tall Silver King to Northway Peak, Bear Pits and Snorting Elk Chutes the options are plentiful and the steeps are steep.
